“Worth started two colts for me recently. He pays great attention to detail and it was evident, when I brought my 2 year olds home from training, that both had received a really great start.” - Kim Schmid, 2006 NCHJA Adult Amatuer Hunter Champion; USHJA Regional Amateur Award Winner
“Horses
have always held a special place in my
heart, so my husband and I built our dream
home
on 10 acres with the intention of
buying one. My dream horse turned out to be
a gorgeous, three month old spotted walking
horse, who quickly became the ruler of the
roost. She grew quickly and with each
passing day she became more pushy, to the
point that my blacksmith wouldn’t come back
to trim her until she was taught some
manners. When she reared up and almost
struck me I knew I needed help. Someone told
me about a horse trainer named Worth Miller,
who they said, could fix the problem with
Daytona and could also show me how to handle
her as well. He came over and within a few
minutes had her lunging both directions,
stopping, backing up, and leading forward
with fingertip pressure. The transformation
was truly amazing and in such a short period
of time! After two or three sessions with
Worth I learned to communicate with, and
handle Daytona well enough that I was no
longer intimidated by her. She’s now two
years old and still doing well. I’m
confident that with the ground work she’s
had, there won’t be any problems when it
comes time to start her under saddle.”

“When I
became interested in taking riding lessons a
friend suggested that I ride with Worth
Miller because they said not only is he a
good instructor, but he can teach you how to
see things from the horses perspective. He
soon taught me the basics and when I decided
to buy a horse of my own,
he helped me
select it. I’ve had Conner, a 7 year old,
beautiful grey Quarter horse, for two years
and still ride with Worth. We’ve been to
several horse shows and with every one I
gain more confidence. Worth has always given
me instruction and encouragement in a
positive and patient manner as both Conner
and I advance together”. -

“I have
known Worth Miller for several years. I
first met him when he was the manager of
Hunter's Isle. I needed a job for class
credit and thought working on a horse farm
was a dream job! I had 2 horses of my own,
but had no idea of how to properly care for
horses in general. Worth agreed to hire me
despite that fact. He taught me things about
horses he probably has no idea he taught me.
I hung on his every word, it seemed he had
the answer to every question I asked. He
never made
me feel dumb for asking, he just
explained it the best he could and tried to
make me understand.
Worth has a way with horses and a patience that can make you just sit back and watch him work with them in awe. Sometimes after our lessons I would just hang around to study how he handled a horse, hoping to figure out how he could read them so well. I am convinced that after only a few moments, he and the horse were speaking the same language. I know he understands them because when I am riding a horse he can tell me what the horse is thinking and instruct me what to do next in order to achieve the task at hand. Not many people can stand on the ground and accurately tell what the horse is thinking. I am very pleased that Worth has agreed to hold clinics to help problem horses, I think he will also be a great help with problem "people" as well. I have found all to often that when I think I am dealing with a problem horse, most often the problem lies with me!” - Debra Maready
“We had just purchased our first pony for our daughter, Sylvie, age 10. Spottie is an 8 year old POA/Appaloosa cross. The first two months did not go smoothly. Due to inexperience, both ours and Spottie's, riding was not fun. We had a very resistant pony and Sylvie was frustrated. Sylvie's riding instructor recommended Worth Miller to us. Worth worked with Spottie on everything from ground manners to cantering. After a couple of weeks, Sylvie joined the training. The result -- she improved her skills as both a handler and a rider.
After six weeks, we had an extremely responsive pony to Sylvie's cues, was easy to handle on the ground, fun to ride, and safe. Sylvie was a better rider, knew how to handle her pony on the ground and Worth shared exercises with Sylvie that would keep both her and Spottie sharp after leaving Worth's barn. Worth Miller knows how to train the pony and the rider. He is a professional who is easy to work with, direct and very willing to share his lifelong love and experience with horses. His obvious goal is to educate the pony and the owners -- maximizing the entire experience for all involved. Worth helped Sylvie and Spottie form the kind of bond parents dream of for their pony-loving kids!” - Annie Baggett
“I’ve been riding all my life, but Worth is coaching me on how to be with my horse in a positive way. I’m learning to relate to Abby from her point of view. This allows me to anticipate situations and think my way through them, avoiding problems before they happen. It’s the highest quality instruction I’ve ever received!” - Jamie Jacobs, student
“My experience with Worth these past two years, as a student and apprentice, is that he always sets things up for the student and the horse to succeed, all the while making sure it’s their idea. He has set things up so that I can succeed.” - Amelia, student
